How Much RAM Do I Need?

Simple Recommendation for everybody: Buy as much high-quality RAM as your budget allows. Get at least one Gigabyte.

RAM is the single most important piece of computer hardware. Buy too little and you don't get the performance you'd expect out of all your other equipment.

You can never buy too much RAM. But don't buy the cheap stuff. Buy high-quality.

If you're buying an off-the-shelf, pre-configured PC, you may not get a choice in terms of the quality of the RAM. You most likely have a choice in the amount, however. Get at least 1 GB of RAM. 2 is better. 3 is the best right now.
